Pursuant to Section 170-134 of the Rappahannock County Code and Section 15.22204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission for Rappahannock County, Virginia, will a hold a public hearing
on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the evening in the Courthouse
250 Gay Street, Washington, Virginia in order to consider the following applications:
John Perry Hallberg (owner) of Tax Map 38, Parcel 31, comprising 5.675 acres,
located at 9 Josh Ben Lane, Sperryville, Virginia, Piedmont District, has applied for
a rezoning of Rural Residential (RR-5) to Highway Commercial (HC) with proffers
for a portion of the parcel of land. The purpose of the rezoning is to allow permitted
uses not currently permitted in the RR-5 district including a winery located within
the “Estes Mill” which has already obtained approval for a dulcimer museum. The
applicant has provided proposed proffers which restricts certain by-right uses of
the Highway Commercial zoning district.
Copies of the foregoing application is on file at the Zoning Office, 311 N Gay Street,
Washington, Virginia, and is available for public inspection Monday through Friday,
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Following the public hearing, the Rappahannock County
Planning Commission intends to provide a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors pursuant to Section 170-134.E(2). Comments may be sent to Michelle
