A Night of Hope
Nationally known speaker, David Ring, speaks Sunday (Father's Day) at 6:55 p.m. at Riverview Baptist Church in Woodbridge. David Ring knows about being victorious in the face of insurmountable odds. Born in 1953, David was deprived of oxygen for 18 minutes at birth leaving him with Cerebral Palsy. Orphaned at the age of 14, after both parents died of cancer, he was cast from family to family with nowhere to call home. Father's Day at Buckhall
Buckhall Methodist Church invites fathers and family to a sermon on "Terce … con-cisely," continuing the series on the hours of prayer. Islam 101 classes in Manassas
The Muslim Association of Virginia is offering free Islam 101 classes Sundays at 4 p.m. at Dar Alnoor Mosque, 5404 Hoadly Road, Manassas. The classes are designed for new Muslims and non-Muslims, and will be taught by Brother Altaf Taufique. Participants should feel free to ask any question, and no question will be considered offensive. Books and other materials are provided at no cost. Help the Homeless Flea Market Festival
Streetlight Community Outreach Ministries and The Cooperative Council of Ministries holds their second monthly flea market to help the homeless June 28 at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 1550 Prince William Parkway (next to Fred Lynn Middle School).
Proceeds are used to keep the drop-in center open for the homeless and provide other needed services. The hours are 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors and yard sales are needed. Parking lot size spaces cost $20, with a refundable deposit of $10. Tables are available for an additional $5. There will be a moon bounce and refreshments for sale. Donations are also appreciated.
