Winner

… The Prince William Public Library System Foundation, which is planning a benefit fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association on Sept. 14 from 2 to 6 p.m. at The Winery at La Grange.

… Prince William County Park Authority, which is celebrating Patriot Golf Day at its three 18-hole courses this weekend. During the Labor Day extended weekend, players will have the opportunity to contribute an additional $1 to their greens fees. This contribution will be donated to the Folds of Honor Foundation which awards scholarships to children of those individuals who have become severely disabled or lost their lives in military action.

… U.S. soldiers recuperating at Washington, D.C.'s Walter Reed Army Hospital, who experienced the tran-quil touch of Tranquility Day Spa & Salon's stylists and massage therapist. Several of the employees of the spa donated their time an serviced as part of a Comfort for America's Uniformed Services event by providing haircuts, mini-manicures, hand paraffins and massages for the soldiers. They included Teri Hart, Jessica Curley, Gloria Harding, Morgan Harding, Bethany Phillips, Megan Phillips and Mary McCann.

… Columbia Gas of Virginia customers, who will see a 12 percent reduction in their monthly natural gas bills. The decline means a typical residential customer based on a 26Ccf seasonal usage will have their monthly bill decrease form a current amount of $61.37 to $53.98.

Loser

… Motorist who will celebrate the Labor Day weekend by drinking too much alcohol and then driving. Drinking and driving don't mix and anyone planning to drink should designate a non-drinking driver before beginning a celebration.
