Manassas assault case reclassified as homicide
What started as an assault case is now being investigated by Manassas City police as a homicide after the victim, 51-year-old Jani Famil Babamirza, died Aug. 23 at Potomac Health Care Center in Arlington, authorities reported Friday.

A GPS unit valued at $300 was stolen from a 1999 Dodge Durango in the 15100 block of Calexico Lane between 9 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. There were no signs of forced entry, police said.

A 41-year-old Lake Ridge-area man was arrested last week after an ongoing investigation into criminal sexual activity at Locust Shade Park in Triangle, Prince William County police reported Wednesday.

Man in stable condition after being shot in robbery
The 30-year-old man shot during an armed robbery in Dale City Sunday afternoon is now in stable condition, Prince William County police said.

Two teens were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana after police investigated a suspicious vehicle complaint around Friday in the 7600 block of Sudley Road in the Manassas area.

Prince William County police are looking for information in a felony hit and run in the Manassas area on Tuesday.

A diamond ring, a diamond pendant with a gold chain and a diamond necklace valued at $1,600 were stolen from a house in the 8600 block of Newton Place in the Manassas area between 11 a.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The victim said the jewelry was stolen while she was hosting a party at her house.
