Man charged with abduction, assault and battery

Police have charged a 27-year-old man with abduction, burglary with intent to assault, assault and battery and resisting arrest following a break-in at a business in the 7800 block of Sudley Road near Manassas, Prince William police spokeswoman Officer Erika Hernandez said.

Police were called to the store about 12:15 p.m. Oct. 4 for a disorderly in progress report and arrested Raymond Timothy McAtee, 27, of no fixed address, on the charges, Hernandez said.

The investigation revealed that he broke into a business and forced an acquaintance at the business to leave with him, Hernandez said.

The 26-year-old Manassas woman had seen him coming, police said, and locked herself in the business.

Police allege that McAtee used a trashcan to break the glass door of the business.

The woman was punched several times and suffered minor injuries, according to police.

McAtee was held without bond and has a scheduled court date of Nov. 18.

Warrenton couple charged with larceny

Two people were arrested Tuesday night after allegedly walking out of a store with more than $350 worth of merchandise, Prince William County police said.

The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. at a department store in the 8200 block of Sudley Road near Manassas, said Officer Erika Hernandez, police spokeswoman.

Ricardo Omar Castro Mendoza, 19, and Sandra Patricia Linares Pimentel, 19, both residing 42 E. Shirley Ave. in Warrenton, were each charged with grand larceny, Hernandez said.

The two were released on their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in court Dec. 5.

Arlington river charged with assault of witness

A two-vehicle crash Thursday night led to the arrest of a man who police allege assaulted a witness who had stopped to help, police said.

The two vehicles collided in the area of Caton Hill and Telegraph roads in Woodbridge around 10:35 p.m., said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.

A 41-year-old Washington, D.C., man stopped to help and was assaulted when he approached one of the drivers, Hernandez said.

Police say that driver Mario Argueta, 28, of 5203 8th Road S. in Arlington was charged with assault and battery and driving under the influence, Hernandez said.

He was held without bond, but a court date was not available, police said.

Bristow man faces burglary tools charge

A man was charged with possession of burglary tools after a police officer patrolling a Virginia Railway Express lot found him walking between parked cars Tuesday morning, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.

Officer W.J. Huber was patrolling the lot at 10637 Piper Lane in Manassas around 10:48 a.m. Tuesday when he saw a suspicious vehicle and stopped to investigate, Hernandez said.

The officer found an unidentified man sitting in the passenger seat, who then bailed out of the car and ran away before being identified, Hernandez said.

Then the officer spotted a second man who was caught, police said.

Police say the investigation revealed that neither man had a legitimate reason to be at the lot.

During a search of the second man, the officer found gloves, a hacksaw, two screwdrivers and an inspection mirror, according to police.

Justin Clark Mallon, 23, of 12427 Selkirk Circle in Bristow, was arrested on the charge, Hernandez said.

He was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond and has a scheduled court date of Dec. 9.
