County police seeking information on robberies

Te Prince William County Police Department recently made several arrests in street robberies along the U.S. 1 corridor. During the arrests, police found out that additional robberies occurred in the following areas during the past two months:

• Chesapeake Drive and Jefferson Davis Highway in the Dumfries area
• Longview Drive and Jefferson Davis Highway in the Woodbridge area
• Bayside Avenue

During the investigation police also learned that there may be some people who were robbed while walking in secluded locations.

The victims may not have reported these crimes to the police.

Those who have been victims or witnesses of a robbery or have information regarding these crimes should call the Prince William County Police non-emergency number at 703-792-6500 to file a report.
Additionally, police are asking the residents of Prince William County to report any suspicious activity and to report all crimes.

Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call Prince William County Crime Solvers at 703-670-3700 or 1-866-411-TIPS. Callers do not have to give their names or testify in court and may receive up to $1,000 for information that results in arrest.

It still makes you wonder WHY someone would not report a robbery to the police.  Even if the cops could not catch the person(s) involved, at least it goes into their stats and possibly provide some focus into the area, based on times previous crimes were committed.  Maybe I am not a “ME ONLY” person.
