A unidentified pedestrian was struck by a car and killed on Caton Hill Road in Woodbridge on Saturday night, Prince William County police said.
The adult male was hit by a 2005 Subaru WRX in front of the Woodbridge Department of Motor Vehicles in the 2700 block of Caton Hill Road around 10:19 p.m. Saturday, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William County police spokeswoman.
The driver of the Subaru, Tamarr Deshawn Williams, 24, of 3605 Eagle Rock Court in Woodbridge, was charged with involuntary manslaughter.
Williams was driving “at a high rate of speed” when he struck the pedestrian, Hernandez said.
Williams “attempted to avoid the collision,” but still hit the man, she said.
Williams and a 23-year-old woman who was a passenger in his car left the scene of the accident. They returned to the scene about two hours later and spoke to police, Hernandez said.
Williams is being held at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond and has a court date on Jan. 7.
Police are still investigating the accident.

It’s crazy to see how 2 lives are changed forever in a split second. I’ll be keeping both parties in my prayers.
