Ex-teacher to serve 15 years for porn

A former Bull Run Middle School teacher was sentenced Friday to 15 years in federal prison for production of child pornography.

John Byron Shulick, 53, a former eighth-grade science teacher, was also sentenced to 10 years of supervised

release.

Shulick pleaded guilty at U.S. District Court in Alexandria in May.

According to court documents, Shulick met a 16-year-old Fairfax County girl on an adult social networking Web site for people interested in "sexual practices such a

bondage, sadistic and masochistic

conduct [and] submissive/dominant

relationships."

The girl first told Shulick she was 19, but later told him her true age,  the documents state.

Officials said that on several occasions Shulick drove the girl from Fairfax County to his home in Catlett, where he took movies and pictures of her.

Fairfax County police conducted a search warrant at Shulick's Catlett home on March 12, according to court documents.

Authorities seized his cell phone, two computers, two digital cameras, nude pictures of the girl and an outfit the girl wore in one of the pictures.

Shulick worked in the county schools from 2004 to the time of his arrest in March.

The girl was not a student at Bull Run and Shulick is not accused of any crimes involving Prince William County students, school officials said at the time of his arrest.
