Immigration agency arrests 34 workers at Manassas construction company

MANASSAS, Va. (AP)—Federal immigration authorities have arrested 34 Latin American nationals at a Prince William County construction company for being in the U.S. illegally.
A spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says the workers are from Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica and El Salvador. They are in ICE custody undergoing deportation proceedings.
The arrests occurred Monday at work sites for CMC Concrete Construction in the Manassas area.
ICE spokeswoman Ernestine Fobbs could not discuss why the construction company drew federal attention, saying two search warrants executed in connection with the operation were under seal.

I can’t believe that some people will let our country get raped by illegals. We should do everything in our power to send them back where they came from. Have any of you noticed the crime stats for prince william county? They don’t follow our laws and could not care less about breaking them. They take jobs from hard working americans and exploit our hospitals to have their babies who will end up on welfare. We need to fight back and reclaim what we have worked so hard for the last 200 years. Send them to France.

But Barnum, there are lots of Americans who do not file tax returns. Even prominent citizens. Just put it in your thick skull that illegals DO PAY TAXES!! Like sales tax, gasoline taxes, licenses, fees, etc. What’s the matter? Too bigoted (or ignorant) to admit it?

Your blind perception raywilliams that illegals pay MORE Taxes are far to be real .

What are the odds that he or she would come up with the money to pay the additional tax bill after the IRS denied the non-qualifying exemptions? And, if the illegal alien falsely claimed that the dependents did live in the U.S., he or she would still be evading his or her fair share of taxes…
By evading taxes, benefiting from taxpayer provided services, and undermining the wage scale of legal workers, it is highly unlikely that illegal immigrants are a net benefit to most Americans.“

I’m proud to be an American too. that is why i speak the language of our country, obey the laws and file tax returns. the above article say that ICE arrested people from 6 different countries but the Pro Illegal groups try to keep making this about mexico. It’s not about Mexico or about a race. It’s about legal vs illegal. There is no race in that. Also remember that US native born citizens cannot just freely move across our northern border either.

WSGFN, exactly my point. Gray Market workers are NOT legal, but have “obtained” enough documentation to become employed. Yes, they are STILL illegal workers. BUT - they DO PAY TAXES. I am not defending illegals, but hate to see the stereotype of “don’t pay taxes” continued to be spread. Narrow-minded people are willing to win the battle but lose the war. I myself would like to win the war. We have two problems in America: 12 million illegal immigrants and no system to document who is here. I can assure you we won’t be sending 12 million home anytime soon, so perhaps if people took their blinders off, we could find a solution to at least document who is here. There is an element of our population that insists that its either 12 million go home or nothing. Well, 34 down and 11,999,966 to go. Looks like you’re winning the battle. Call me when they’re all gone.

Yay!!Its working…The law is the law RAYWILLIAMS. Day laborers may pay taxes and may not pay taxes. At this point it doesnt matter. Illegals must leave or get legal.

Maybe YOU should know what you are talking about. If they have “JUST ENOUGH” documentation to get a job with a big company like WALMART or McDonalds, then they HAVE ENOUGH documentation to file their taxes properly, of course unless those “documents” are stolen or fraudulent!
Most LARGE employers verify, shortly after employment, with Social Security Administration the “seemingly” valid SS#. However if a “WORKER” is unable to file his/her taxes it would make me wonder if the “VALID SS#“ were stolen…YET AGAIN another broken law…IDENTITY THEFT.
Keep digging your hole, Mr. Ray Williams, you’ll eventually find the place you’re destined.

mytaker - just how do you know these illegal workers do not pay taxes? Are you there when they get paid? Are YOU illegal also and therefore “in the know”? There are 3 kinds of workers, legal, black market and gray market. Legals of course pay taxes. Black market(generally day labors) are usually paid cash and while they do not pay tax on their earning, whomever gave them the cash paid tax when converting HIS money to cash. I won’t defend that, but that is the black market system. The third worker is a gray market employee. Just enough documentation to get employed by a Corporate America type of company (think McDonalds or Wal*Mart) where payroll is handled in Indiana (or now perhaps India) and the checks return to the work location for distribution. With a gray market employee, all taxes are withheld, but usually, the employee does not have enough documentation to actually file for a tax refund. So in many cases, an illegal immigrant pays MORE in taxes than a legal resident. Rant and Rave all you want about illegal immigrants, but please, stop spreading myths about which you don’t know.

Illegal alien isn’t a race. We have Latin/Hispanic Americans and legal resident aliens of all races. Don’t let race hucksters like La Raza and their sock puppet, the “Woodbridge Workers Committee” confuse the issue. If we were being invaded by millions of illegal aliens from Norway who wanted to change our language and culture rather than assimilate, who wanted rights they don’t deserve and don’t get from their own country, who want social services that we pay for, and who want to cry racism every time we dare to enforce our own laws, we’d be angry about that, too.

Its about time they catch up with these people. Those the illegals dont pay taxes so whom ever wrote that they do is misinformed. Probably illegal yourself. I dont think they should be allowed to even come to our schools without showing their status. That is where these gangs and all the violence is coming from. That time all of them were marching and stayed out of school I was told it was so peaceful. Need to go back to their own country. I’m tired of every time I order a burger or something they dont understand English. and then when they do they act like they dont. Not only the hispanic, but the indians and chinese to. Ship them all back. IF they were black they would ship them back before they feet hit the pavement.
