An arrest has been made in the 11-month-old murder of a Triangle man, Prince William police announced Tuesday.

Eryck Daron Julius, 29, of no fixed address, was arrested Thursday in New York and charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony for the July 2007 shooting death of 25-year-old Rahsaan Gregory “Rocky” Mack, police spokeswoman Officer Erika Hernandez said Tuesday.

Police received information about the shooting while investigating an unrelated incident, Hernandez said.

Julius waived his extradition hearing and was brought to the Prince William -Manassas regional jail on Friday, police said.

He was arraigned in Prince William General District Court on Monday, according to court records.

Mack was shot dead outside of a Linden Park Apartments   building in the 18100 block of Kilmer Lane in Triangle shortly after 11:30 p.m. on July 2, police said at the time.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting, but said they believe Mack was targeted.

The investigation continues, Hernandez said.

Julius is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in Prince William General District Court on Aug. 20 for a preliminary hearing, according to court records.

fortunately for all of us, the police dont need a murder weapon, they have dead body, nor do they need a motive. It doesnt matter WHY the crime happened the bottom line is it happened and they obviously have enough evidence against Mr Julius to bring it before a judge, and poor little Mr julius will have a trial by a jury of peers in which they will be the ones to decide his fate. As for me, never seen an episode of CSI, but have been on the other side of the fence and in the system quite a bit and do know all about how it works. Could it be that MR JULIUS is a poor little product of the enviornment known as DUMFRIES.

Ignorama, you may have a few things correct.. Unfortunately the things that you do not have correct are: 1) the police haven’t released a motive; 2) where is the murder weapon?; 3) Where is the evidence? Oh yeah… I forgot the police are just as ignorant and racist as you are. The cowards, ( and yes it is plural)who are attempting to save themselves from FED time will also have their day in court. Its just a shame that they will have to add purgery on to the long list of charges they will be facing. I am well aware of the way the justice system works, unlike you who watches a couple episiodes of CSI and thinks he is a damn forensic pathologist. The only fool is you… maybe you need to watch a couple of reruns of “Murder She Wrote”, in addition to those episodes of CSI to get your repertoire in order!

PWC doesnt owe that boy anything. they arent going to just come lock you up based on a statemnt some fool made. Have you ever heard of an interrogation? that would be where they pull information out of the suspect based on information they have already recieved, many folks walk away from the interrogation table with a cleared name.  Mr Julius it seems was unable to do such, why we ask, probably because of the word guilt. If hes not the triggerman, he knows who is and the police know this.  Its a little thing called guilty by association.  There are tactics involved here. Get Mr Eryck to talk or he will do the time. You all should learn a little bit about how the system works, and you might then keep yourselves from looking like fools on the internet.  Oh happy day

As a single mother of two my heart goes out to the children and significant other of the vicitim. I pray that the police are able to provide the family with some closure, if and when they locate the guilty party in this case. Unfortunately, the man standing trial for this murder is NOT the guilty party. Eryck may be many things but he is not a murderer. All I can say is that when all is said and done, PCW police department is going to owe this man and his children a huge appology as well as monetary compensation.
