A 22-year-old accused of robbing a Triangle 7-11 store of several cartons of cigarettes was arrested shortly after the incident Tuesday morning, Prince William County police said.

James F. Wolford, 22, of 17796 Lyda Lane in Dumfries, was found near the site of the robbery and was charged with robbery, said Officer Erika Hernandez, police spokeswoman.

Police said someone entered the store in the 18700 block of Fuller Heights Road around 8:40 a.m. and pushed the clerk, forcing his way behind the counter.

After stealing cigarettes, the robber then fled the scene.

Wolford was held without bond and has a July 30 court date.

The store clerk was not injured, Hernandez said.
