Man shot in Dale City robbery

Prince William County police are investigating a possible robbery and shooting that injured one man in Dale City on Sunday afternoon.
An unidentified man was shot while walking in the 14900 block of Cordell Avenue in Dale City around 1:03 p.m. Sunday, police spokeswoman Officer Erika Hernandez said.
Police believe that the man was walking on Cordell Avenue when a silver-colored sedan pulled up next to him.
A man got out of the car, approached the victim, shot at him and took his wallet, Hernandez said.
The shooting victim was flown to an area hospital and his condition was not known.
Police are investigating the incident as an armed robbery, Hernandez said.
Sunday afternoon police were still searching for the shooter, described as an adult male wearing a gray colored shirt and a baseball cap and armed with a handgun.
The car may have been driven by a second man, police said.
