Two Manassas teens were charged this week in the 2006 shooting death of 22-year-old Kyle L. Turner, authorities said

Friday.

On Wednesday, Manassas City police obtained petitions charging Freddie D. Wigenton, 18, whose last known address is in the 9300 block of Witch Hazel Way, and Deshawn D. Anderson, 18, of 9291 Taney Road, with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, said Sgt. Tim Neumann, police spokesman.

Police said they anticipate a third person to be charged in connection with the homicide.

Neumann said investigators have an idea of who that person is, but that police would not release more details until charges are placed.

Commonwealth's Attorney Paul B. Ebert said Anderson and Wigenton, who were juveniles at the time, will be charged as adults.

Anderson was served with the petitions at Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center near Winchester, where he was being held on a two counts of assault, one count of use of a firearm in an assault and robbery stemming from Prince William County, according to the adult detention center's records division.

Anderson remains in Winchester on charges of second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony stemming from the Manassas case, authorities said.

According to police, Wigenton was served with the petitions at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail where he is being held on charges unrelated to Turner's homicide.

Wigenton was named in a criminal complaint filed Feb. 26 in Prince William County Circuit Court as one of three people involved in the shooting death of Rodolfo Reyes-Hernandez in the stairwell of a Manassas-area apartment on the afternoon of March 15, 2006.

The sound of gunshots and a call to 911 led Manassas police to the parking lot of apartment building at 8901 Nicol Lane in the early morning hours of Dec. 12.

It was there officers found Turner, who had been shot multiple times, police said at the time.

In late February, Prince William police charged 22-year-old Jarrell Scott, of no fixed address; Edward L. Hogan, 23, of Manassas; and an 18-year-old, whose name police did not release because he was a juvenile at the time of the shooting, with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Court documents described the incident as a botched drug deal.

Prince William police said a court hearing to certify the 18-year-old as an adult will be held April 3.
