Three Osbourn High School students have been arrested on multiple charges related to an incident in which a tree limb and other items were placed on a roadway, leading to a crash that injured two people, Prince William County police said Thursday.
Dusty Harrelson, 18, of 10373 Butternut Circle in Manassas, was charged with two counts of felony destruction, two counts of trespassing and two counts of litter upon a highway, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, police spokeswoman.
Michael D. Fuller, 18, of 9609 Garden St. in Manassas, was charged with four counts of felony destruction of property, three counts of trespassing and four counts of litter upon a highway, police said.
Eric Regis, 18, of 8576 Adamson St. in Manassas, was charged with trespassing, litter upon a highway and two counts of felony destruction of property.
Beginning late last year, items were put on Prince William Parkway between Lucasville and Nokesville roads late at night, Chinn said.
The investigation revealed that a group of teens was doing it to watch cars swerve and cause accidents, police said.
On March 18, an accident is exactly what happened.
Two vehicles crashed because of a tree limb, a tire and a boulder in the roadway, police said.
Two people in one of the vehicles were injured and taken to a local hospital where they were treated and released, Chinn said. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
"Only recently did we start to put it together that people were putting things out there," Chinn said. "It's horribly dangerous. People could have been killed; I think we're fairly fortunate that the injuries we do have are minor."
Then on March 21, an officer traveling on the parkway reported debris in the roadway, stopped to remove it, while other officers were deployed to the surrounding area where the three suspects were arrested.
The investigation continues with charges pending against others believed to be involved, Chinn said.
Harrelson and Fuller were each held in lieu of a $25,000 bond; Regis was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
All three are scheduled to appear in court May 30, Chinn said.

What are you nuts? QWhy are you all making this into an immigration issue. This could happen anywhere, regardless of what immigration policies are in place! and how staffed/understaffed PD is!
What the real shame is that the parents who raised these demons aren’t held responsible for their actions. Maybe putting their sorry butts in jail might help as well. I’ll bet you they had no clue where their kids were all those nights.
IMHO, these hoodlums need to be sent to do some serious time!!
Officer Chinn is right, just lucky no one was killed!
You fools, get over the immigration issue and focus on what really makes sense here. PWC police seemed to have enough resources to catch these guys right?

Citizens don’t commit crimes - to hear the anti’s tell it. Not having papers is a very very serious thing - really affects law and order. Ha ha.

PWCMom, if the police weren’t chasing “paper violations”, perhaps they could focus on real criminals such as these punks. Yes, both immigrant and native-born. CRIME is the issue and spreading our police too thin. CRIME is more important than whose flipping burgers at the hamburger hut.

By name, these individuals appear to be native-born American. A crying shame our police department was busy chasing hard working people whose only “crime” was not having a piece of paper in their pocket while the actions of those listed above were not agressively
investigated. How many injuries were caused by a County focus on immigration instead of criminal actions? May you sleep well at night Corey Stewart.
