Police break-up alleged street race; 37 arrested

Fairfax County police charged 37 youth and adults with trespassing after breaking up what was allegedly a street race gathering.

According to a police news release, 27 of those charged were from the Prince William and Manassas areas.

Officers were called to a church in the 15400 block of Lee Highway in the Bull Run area around 12:45 a.m. Saturday and found numerous people and vehicles in the church’s parking lot, the news release states.

Police believe the group was preparing to preparing to street race.

The following were charged with trespassing on private property and were released on a summons:

· A 16-year-old Manassas-area boy
· A 17-year-old Centreville-area boy
· A 17-year-old Manassas-area boy
