Woodbridge woman charged with larceny
Ana Margarita Motta Alvarez, 23, of 1608 Francis Drive in Woodbridge, was charged with grand larceny in the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Road in Woodbridge around 5 p.m. Monday, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.
Alvarez is accused of stealing approximately $530 in merchandise, Hernandez said.
She was held in lieu of a $2,000 bond and has a May 2 court date.
Man receives concealed weapon charge
Timothy Morris Johnson, 21, of 1302 Bayside Ave. in Woodbridge, was charged with possession of a concealed firearm after police responded to a call of an armed subject, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.
The incident happened in the 1200 block of Bayside Avenue around 5 p.m. Wednesday, Hernandez said.
Johnson was released on a summons. His court date was not available.
Man sought on charges in Md. is arrested
A 25-year-old Woodbridge man wanted in Maryland on multiple charges, including attempted second-degree mur-der, was charged by Prince William County police Tuesday with being a fugitive from justice, authorities said.
Around 9 p.m. Tuesday, detectives with the Prince William police department’s gang unit arrested Milton Javier Calderon-Melendez, of 1337 Horner Road, on the charge while investigating an unrelated incident, said Offi-cer Erika Hernandez, police spokeswoman.
During the investigation, the detectives received information that Calderon-Mendez was wanted by Montgomery County police on charges of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, second-degree assault and conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, Hernandez said.
Police said Calderon-Melendez is a native of El Salvador and is believed to be in the country illegally.
He is being held without bond at Prince William-Manassas regional jail awaiting extradition, Hernandez said.
Lorton man arrested following police chase
A traffic stop that led to a police chase on U.S. 1 ended in the arrest of a 55-year-old Lorton man on multiple charges Wednesday evening, police said.
Dominick Bo Giovanni, of 7663 Oakridge Woods Court, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, felony eluding, hit and run, no operator’s license, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, grand larceny of auto and possession of stolen property, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokes-woman.
Around 9:40 p.m., a patrol officer saw a 1996 Nissan Altima hit a road sign in the median near Marys Way in Woodbridge, Hernandez said.
The officer tried to stop the car, but it sped away, initiating what police said was a short chase that ended with the car driving over spike strips police had laid across the road.
Bo Giovanni, who is accused of stealing the car he was driving, was held without bond and has an April 21 court date.
