Girl, 13, reports attack near Cloverdale Park

Prince William County police are investigating an attempted robbery and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl near Cloverdale Park Thursday.

The girl reported that she was walking with a friend in the 15100 block of Cloverdale Road, across the street from the park, around 9:30 p.m. when a man walked up behind them and demanded a cell phone, Prince William County police spokeswoman Sharon Richardson said.

The girl threw her cell phone away from her and the man touched her inappropriately, police said.

The man left the scene when he was frightened by a passing car, police said.

The girl was not injured.

The man is described as a black male wearing a black zip-up hoodie with multi-colored rhinestones on the front.

Two Manassas males face drug charge

On Wednesday night members of the Prince William County/Manassas/Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force searched a residence in the 9100 block of Winterset Drive in Manassas, following an investigation. During the search police seized marijuana and cash.

Bruce C. Price, 23, of 9193 Winterset Drive in Manassas was arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and was held on a $5,000 secure bond. He has a court date on Sept. 25.

A 17-year-old Manassas boy was also arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and will have a hearing in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
