Manassas police reported two robberies that occurred in the city between Friday and Sunday and are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in either case.

The first one occurred around 9 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Brent and Bartlow streets, said Sgt. Tim Neumann, police spokesman.

A 24-year-old man was walking home from the Grant Avenue Shopping Center when two males attacked him from behind, Neumann said.

Police said one of the attackers held the man while the other stabbed him in the abdomen with an unknown object.

The assailants took off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim, Neumann said.

The victim was unable to provide police with a detailed description of his attackers, police said.

The second robbery happened around 7 p.m. Sunday while a 20-year-old man was walking to his car after leaving the 7-Eleven at 8402 Digges Road, Neumann said.

Two males, both wearing dark hoodies pulled over their heads, knocked the man to the ground and punched him several times, police said.

The assailants pulled the man's gold necklace from his neck and then fled, police said.

Anyone with information about either of these robberies is asked to call Manassas City Crime Solvers at 703-330-0330. Callers don't have to give their names, just the information.
