Man, 30, charged with drunken driving
A Fredericksburg man was charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into a light pole near the on ramp for Interstate 66 in the Manassas area Saturday morning, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.
The accident happened around 7:34 a.m. when a 1995 Mazda traveling west on Prince William Parkway lost control, hit an embankment and then a light pole, Hernandez said.
The car rolled roughly 115 feet until it came to a stop on its roof, police said.
The driver, 30-year-old Kevin Matthew Overton, was ejected from the car, police said.
He was flown to an area hospital where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries and released, police said.
Overton, of 6339 Old Plank Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated and was released on summons pending a June 9 court hearing, Hernandez said.
Man, 19, charged with drug possession
Taj Wayne Waddell, 19, of 14025 Lindendale Road in Dale City, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana during a traffic stop in the area of Mapledale Avenue and Dale Boulevard in Dale City around 12:36 a.m. Friday, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.
Waddell was held in lieu of a $2,500 bond and has a June 2 court date, Hernandez said.
Man arrested on multiple charges in Woodbridge
Felipe Ramirez Martinez, 34, of no fixed address, was arrested on several charges after police were called to the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge for a trespassing complaint, said Officer Erika Hernandez said.
Police charged Martinez with possession of marijuana, obstruction of justice and public intoxication following the incident that occurred around 5:23 p.m. Friday, Hernandez said.
Police said Martinez initially gave officers a false name.
Martinez was held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court June 8.
21-year-old arrested on drug possession charges
James Theodore Meade, 21, of 1505 Tyler Circle in Woodbridge, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana during a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Daniel Stuart Square in Woodbridge around 12:45 p.m. Saturday, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.
Meade was held in lieu of a $2,000 bond and has a June 9 court date, Hernandez said.
Fredericksburg man arrested after footchase
Ulyssess Leonard Karpedah, 25, of 112 Farrell Lane in Fredericksburg, was charged with possession of stolen property, obstruction of justice and driving without an operator’s license during a traffic stop in the area of U.S. 1 and Featherstone Road in Woodbridge, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.
The incident happened around 9:13 a.m. Friday, police said.
Karpedah is accused of leading police on a short foot chase following the stop, Hernandez said.
Police said Karpedah was driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen.
He was held in lieu of a $1,000 bond. No court date was available, Hernandez said.
Computer stolen while women slept nearby
Manassas police are investigating a residential burglary in the 10200 block of Ginny Way on Sunday night.
Someone broke into the house between 10:30 and 10:50 p.m. and stole a $2,100 laptop, police said.
One of the residents, a 59-year-old woman, was asleep on the couch that was just behind the desk the computer was snatched from, police said.
She awoke to the sound of a sliding glass door closing.
