Man charged with weapon possession
Sandro Alvarenga-Reyes, 34, of no fixed address, was charged with possession of a concealed weapon after police were called to investigate a complaint of a man armed with a knife, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.

The incident happened in the 14200 block of Bowman Court in Dale City around 3 p.m. Friday, Hernandez said.

Alvarenga-Reyes is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 5, but no bond information was available, police said.

Man hospitalized after gunshot wound
A 21-year-old man was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital after police found him suffering gunshot wounds to one of his legs in the Dumfries area late Friday night, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.

The Dumfries man was found around 11:40 p.m. in the area of Allen Dent Road and Naples Lane, Hernandez said.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The shooting is under investigation, Hernandez said.

Nearby, in the 3100 block of Chesapeake Drive near Dumfries, nearly three hours earlier, two 21-year-old Dumfries men were attacked in the woods, Hernandez said.

One of the men was struck in the back of his head, police said, and his bicycle was stolen.

The other heard someone yelling for help, went to where the yells were coming from and and, as he got closer, was attacked by four males, one of which was armed with a handgun, Hernandez said.
His bicycle was also stolen.

Both ran from the woods and called police. Neither was injured during the incident.

Residents report rock throwing incidents
A rock was thrown through a basement window at a residence in the 14700 block of Barksdale Street in Dale City around 12:30 a.m. Monday, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.

After hearing the glass break, the victim looked outside and saw three males in his backyard.

The vandals fled the scene, Hernandez said, without gaining entry into the house.

No injuries were reported.

A similar incident occurred about an hour later in the 14900 block of Vireo Court in Dale City, Hernandez said.

The victim woke up to the sound of glass breaking and found a rock had been thrown through a front window, police said.

No injuries were reported in that incident.
