Three Manassas teens accused of throwing objects onto Prince William Parkway as a prank, and causing at least one accident, waived their rights to preliminary hearings on felony charges in Prince William General District Court Friday.

Dusty J. Harrelson, Michael David Fuller, and Eric Daniel Regis, all 18 and students at Osbourn High School, face several felony and misdemeanor charges from incidents late last year and early this year.

According to police, objects were found placed on Prince William Parkway, between Lucasville and Nokesville roads, beginning late last year.

In their investigation, police discovered that teens were placing the objects, including children's toys, tires, tree limbs and boulders, to cause cars to swerve and cause accidents, police said in March.

Police reported that on March 18 two cars crashed because a tree limb, a tire and a boulder were on the road. Two people were injured.

Three days later police again found objects on the roadway. They searched the area and arrested the three teens.

Harrelson, of 10373 Butternut Circle in Manassas, was charged with two counts of felony destruction of property, two counts of misdemeanor trespassing and two counts of misdemeanor littering on a highway. On Friday, Harrelson waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the felony charges; he will appear in Prince William General District Court on July 18 for a hearing on the misdemeanor charges.

Fuller, 18, of 9609 Garden St. in Manassas, was charged with five felonies and eight misdemeanors.

He waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the five felony charges of destruction of property. He will appear in General District Court on June 13 for the misdemeanor charges, which include four counts of littering on a highway and four counts of trespassing.

Regis, of 8576 Adamson St. in Manassas, waived his right to preliminary hearing on two counts of felony destruc-tion of property and will appear in General District Court on June 13 on two misdemeanor charges of littering on a highway and trespassing.

The felony charges against all three teens will go before a grand jury in Prince William Circuit Court on July 7. If the grand jury indicts them, trial dates will be set.

Six other Osbourn students, four 17-year-olds and two 16-year-olds, were charged with a total of 43 misdemeanors and felonies in connection with the incidents. Their names were not released because they are minors; they will have hearings in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Causing people to crash their cars and the word ‘prank’ do not belong together.

I hope they throw the book at these guys.
