Normal PRTC service is expected today following a threat called in Saturday night.
Prince William County police informed the PRTC of a caller making threatening references to PRTC's buses and "the President," with additional references to "Monday," and "D.C.," according to a release sent on Sunday.
Police characterized the message as non-specific and incoherent, but still treated the call as a serious threat, the release states.
PRTC has had a continuous, armed security presence at the transit center since being informed of the threat.
The PRTC bus fleet is stored in a secured area as a standard practice, and bus operators do a pre-trip
inspection of their vehicle to insure that it is in good working order and nothing is conspicuously awry.
PRTC intends to operate all bus services in the normal manner today.
The PRTC provides commuter and local bus services in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park.
