A Woodbridge man was convicted of first-degree murder this afternoon for his role in the shooting death of a 19-year-old man in the Queensdale area of Dale City.

Anthony Terrell Horne, 20, was found guilty in Prince William Circuit Court of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Horne is one of three men who have been charged in the July 14 death of Ashlee Devon Brown-Houston, who was shot while walking along Queensdale Drive.

According to court testimony Monday, there had been “bad blood” between Brown-Houston, Horne and their friends for about a year before the shooting.

Horne testified that a few weeks before the shooting, Brown-Houston and about 10 other men attacked Horne and Joseph Burnette.

On the day of the shooting, Horne, Burnette and a third man were at the food court at Potomac Mills mall when they saw Brown-Houston and another man.

The two groups of men went outside into the mall parking lot to fight, but only words were exchanged then, witnesses said.

Brown-Houston and his friend went back into the mall and the other men waited in the parking lot.

Later, when Brown-Houston caught a bus outside the mall, the men who had been waiting in the car followed them until he the other man got off in the Mapledale Plaza-area.

When their car pulled up next to Brown-Houston on Queensdale Drive, both men fired shots that hit and killed Brown-Houston, witnesses said.

In his testimony Monday Horne said that he fired his gun after Burnette fired the first shot.

“That’s when I panicked and, not particularly firing at anyone, I shot,” he said.

Horne is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 24.

We’re still talking about it because Mongoose brought it up. No, I don’t think the county is ‘cleaned out’ yet, but the decision to enforce the already existing laws is a good start and I hope the rest of the country follows soon or it will be so out of control we’ll be bordering on anarchy. Construction, landscaping, whatever...employ the LEGAL immigrants, high school dropouts, whatever. It’s against the law to employ ILLEGALS, isn’t it? Or is that still ANOTHER law we need to just ignore on their behalf now…

Well SMHarris, if the problem is solved, why are we still talking about it? Is the County “cleaned out” of illegal immigrants? Are there no more illegal immigrants coming to PWC? What will happen when the construction boom returns? If this is problem solving, I bet the illegal immigrants are all for it.  They have a better chance of hitting the lottery than being collected by ICE. Go forth and rejoice my friend. Enjoy your “solution”.

So Ray wants to spend more tax money to document people that do not respect our laws enough in the first place to arrive here legally. There is already a system in place for those that want to immigrate here, why do we need another one to accommodate those that can’t abide by our laws? The problem HAS been solved by PWC. Well, he does say he can’t think…

It’s great to see that this guy was charged with first degree murder.  It does not matter what nationality someone is but if you commit a crime then you should be punished.  I bet if you ask him if he regrets it in 5 mons.  I bet he says yes.  So foolish...they were upset with each other for over a year and one day they decide to follow the other guy and KILL him for what???  To take another life for something so stupid, that could have been resolved.  People need to respect other people.

Duh, if we had a plan as I’ve suggested to DOCUMENT the illegal immigrants, we would have finger prints and DNA samples of those living in our community. We would also have the payroll tax income from those wishing to work legally. Duh, what part of this do those that have plenty to say about immigrants but offer nothing towards the solving of the problems of immigration not understand? Duh, I dunno because I can’t think Duh.

Ha ha funny joke. Not.

Regardless of what the ‘Americans’ did or didn’t do, they’re LEGAL. If they weren’t, they would’ve been more likely to get away with murder, but because they’re LEGAL it was easier to find and prosecute them. Duh.

every time a hispanic man get accused of a crime, there are a hundred comments saying we got to chase out all the mexicans to stop crime. well, i figure if we can lower crime by chasing out mexicans, we can lower crime even more by chasing out americans since 80% of crime is committed by americans. get it? you guys are probably ok and i am ok too so we;ll keep some americans, but just chase out “the ones that look bad”. hey, this is nt me talking, i;m just getting it from the anti immigrant people. yell at them if you want to yell at someone. they say there so smart they have all the answers.

I fail to understand your usage of the word “americans”.  I am going to give you a little lesson in English by letting you know that when you say American you are referring you anyone who inhabits the United States of America - Including yourself.  Also, by the way if you have a problem with the people of the United States of America then you should probably depart and go somewhere where you find the people more to your liking. --Sad story, people should really think about the consequences of their actions before acting on them.--
