The Prince William County Fire Marshal's Office ruled a Wednesday morning house fire that displaced six as accidental, a spokeswoman for the fire department said.
The fire marshal's investigation determined that an electrical fire started in the family room, according to Kim Hylander, spokeswomanfor the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue.
A neighbor who saw smoke coming from the garage of the residence at 2494 Fraser Court in Woodbridge called 911 around 9:54 a.m., Hylander said.
The blaze was extinguished in about 10 minutes, officials said.
Three adults and three children not home at the time of the fire were displaced as a result, officials said, adding that the American Red Cross was at the scene to assist.
Approximately 70 percent of the house was damaged, mostly to the garage, family room and roof, Hylander said.
The department said the firefighter's injuries were minor but would not release further information, including how he sustained the injuries because of personnel reasons, officials said.
He was taken to Potomac Hospital where he was treated and released.
