Coldwell Banker collects Toys for Tots
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Lake Ridge is serving as a collection center for the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots drive through Dec. 17.
New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the Lake Ridge office, 3401 Commission Court, Suite 101—at the corner of Hedges Run Drive and Old Bridge Road. Collection boxes are accessible in the office's reception area, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Lockheed Martin sends cards to soldiers
Lockheed Martin in Manassas is participating in "Dear Soldier," in which employees will send person-alized holiday cards and phone cards to the 216-member Virginia National Guard Unit that was deployed to Iraq for a tour that will likely last until early 2010.
Collection boxes have been set at various stations around the facility. International phone cards can be dropped in the collection boxes separate or included in the holiday cards. The cards should be addressed "Dear Sol-dier" since their names aren't being released. The Prince William Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting in the adopt-a-soldier campaign.
ReStore looking for team member
Royce Soberano, non-profit Habitat for Humanity Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park ReStore team member, will return to James Madison University this spring. ReStore is looking for a skilled and responsible person to fill a full-time position. ReStore is located at 9506 Center St., Manassas, and sells new and used building materials.

Occoquan to light holiday tree
The town of Occoquan will light its holiday tree at 8 p.m. Friday in conjunction with the Occoquan Mer-chant's Guild Holiday Open House. The ceremony will take place at the Occoquan Town Hall, 314 Mill St., prior to the guild gift certificate drawing.
Santa will arrive by boat at the town Docks in Mamie Davis Park on Nov. 29. Carriage rides will also be available starting at noon. Many of the shops will be open until 8 p.m. on Saturdays for holiday shopping.
Gateway to hold annual tree lighting
Virginia Gateway in Gainesville will have its annual tree lighting ceremony from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday on Atlas Walk.
Activities include horse-drawn carriage rides, live music, Mr. Knick Knack's Holiday Kids Show, treats and a meet-and-greet with Santa. Photographs will be permitted.
Super Chicken to hold ribbon cutting
Super Chicken will have a ribbon cutting ceremony at a new restaurant at 10380 Festival Lane, Manassas on Fri-day.
The facility will specialize in Peruvian cuisine, including charcoal broiled Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken.
