The DC Metro Raiders Booster Club will hold a car wash to benefit the family of Khawaja Ahmed, the Manassas cab driver who was killed while on duty earlier this year.

The event, featuring a DJ, will take place at Hooters of Manassas, 8503 Rixlew Drive, Manassas, today from

1 to 5 p.m.

Jerry Thomas Jr., 26, who worked with Ahmed and is organizing the event, said local businesses have contributed around $700 worth of prizes to raffle off at the event.

The goal is to raise $5,000.

"The more we can raise for his family, the better," Thomas said.
