Mental health program set at Chinn on Monday

"Weaving the Path to Wellness" is the theme of the annual Mental Health Awareness program to be conducted on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chinn Regional Library, 13065 Chinn Park Drive, Wood-bridge.

Travis Tucker, American Idol finalist in 2005, will serve as master of ceremonies. The guest speaker will be James J. Crist, licensed clinical

psychologist and certified substance abuse counselor.

The event is sponsored by Prince William County Community Services and Prince William National Alliance on Mental Illness. Free refreshments will be provided.

Young artist contest postponed for fall

The Novec-Prince William Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition which was to have taken place this weekend at Bethel Lutheran Church, Manassas, has been rescheduled for the fall.

Applicants in the senior division who already have been accepted may compete at that time without re-registering. They have been notified of the change.

A junior division will be added for fall, and details will be announced by mid-summer.
