Prince William Police Chief Charlie T. Deane is meeting with the Mexican Consul in Woodbridge to talk about concerns in the Hispanic community over the county’s resolution on illegal immigration.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Hi Mart, 13412 Jefferson Davis Highway.
The informational meeting is intended to dispel fears and rumors about the resolution in the wake of an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement raid on a worksite in the Manassas area on Monday.

So swim11111, I guess what you are saying is its OK to pick and choose the laws one thinks is “ok” to break? Whether it is murdering someone I find to be a drain on society, or not following the law when crossing onto foreign land? Why? Maybe my murder is for a good cause (says me), so therefore I shouldn’t be punished for it. That’s basically what people are saying when they say “they’re only seeking a better life”. I think if you want to come here, you HAVE to follow the laws, no matter what route you take. yes, they need reformed, but they are still the laws of our land. Can’t respect them? Stay home or pick another country. I dont’ care if your German, Mexican, Cuban or Swedish. They broke the laws to get here, they just have to accept the punishment for the crime, which is most cases is deportation.

Illegal is illegal no matter whether they are just commmiting the crime of being illegal or additional crimes. Pablo who makes $4 an hour and or the drug dealer or murderer who are all illegal must all go, per the law of course. Chris Cummings

Marumsco native per the US Constitution one can seek political asylum which is the case coming from a repressive government like Cuba. That is not the case with Mexicans coming over the border from Mexico. Traveling through the desert to get to the US is not very bright in any case, you suffer the consequences. Chris Cummings

I understand that life in Mexico is hard for many reasons. The chief of which is a totally corrupt government that is powerless to protect it`s citizens. Why do we allow Cubans to stay in our country by merely landing on our shores ? Yet we villify Mexicans who travel through the desert and often die in the process ? This entire situation is one big mess…

Geez---right wing.....yur the best reason for not allowing some people to vote.......Chief Deane is butting his nose into ths because the no-nothing Board of Supervisors directed him to do so.....and it is a damn mess..trying to sort out who the criminals are and who are simply illegals.....in case you didnt notice, there is a differnece between the murderers and drug dealers and pablo who works construction for $4.00 an hour.....and fcs, deane DOES NOT have the authority to deport anyone...that is reserved to immigration judges!! get your info straight before making these wild statements....right-wing indeed!!

It’s a federal crime to be illegal. Why is the chief butting his nose into business that is not his? If he has authority to deport illegals than so be it, but if not lets stop pampering the criminals!!!!!! Yes, the illegals. Waaa Waaa

In Mexico it is against the law for foreign nations to lobby for anything. Also Mexico has much more violent tactics in protecting their southern border than the US would ever consider. I am sure it is worth while to listen to what they have to say, as long as they acknowledge the hypocracy.

Chief Deane has no business meeting with a foreign national. He can meet with community leaders of PWC to address their concerns. The Mexican Government has the harshest rules in regards to the treatment of illegal immigrants. They have no business coming into our county to dictate policy, and chief Deane has no need to cater to them.
What is next, Chief’s Deane’s request for a Foreign Policy Unit within the Police Department! I am sure his supporters on the BOCS will make sure his requests are worked into the budget!

We have 47 Mexican Consulates in the United States. I would say we have at least 40 too many. The ultimate purpose of these consulates are to facilitate illegal immigration.
