Sen. Ken Cuccinelli, R-Fairfax, will hold a press conference today to discuss his plans regarding the Republican nomination for Virginia Attorney General. The event will be at 12:30 p.m. in front of the Fairfax County Government Center.
“Having had some time at home after General Assembly session, my wife and I have made some decisions about this race that are now final enough to share,” Cuccinelli said in a press release.
Cuccinelli is a partner in the law firm of Cuccinelli & Day, PLLC. He has been in the Virginia Senate since winning a seat in special election in 2002.

I heard Cuccinelli speak last week at the Committee 100 meeting. He strikes me as a very competent, reasonable lawyer (which is a compliment I can’t give to many politicians who also happen to be lawyers). So long as he stays “un-arrogant” (as other lawyers come off), I think he’s do fine.
That being said, I don’t understand why an Attorney General should be partisan. Look, law shouldn’t be partisan, so why should this position? Why is VA so hung up on parties? Knock it off, VA! Not everything in life is a Caucus!
