A 24-year-old Springfield man, formerly of Prince William County, was pronounced dead on scene after crashing his motorcycle head on into an embankment on Shenandoah Mountain, reported The Inter-Mountain newspaper.

According to the accident report, at 12:17 p.m. Sunday, Sgt. F.H. Barlow of the Franklin detachment of the West Virginia State
Police found the body of Brandon A. Bundy in the ditch on U.S. 33 east of Brandywine.

Bundy was a 2002 C.D. Hylton High School graduate.

Bundy had apparently crossed into the westbound lane, police said, where he lost control, ran off the roadway and struck the embankment.
