A dozen entries in the 13th annual Gingerbread House Contest adorn shop windows throughout Old Town Manassas.

Creative bakers used not only gingerbread to construct the houses, but Graham crackers, candy canes, pretzels, cookies, gumdrops and other candy items.

Now in its 13th year, the contest has four categories: individual child; individual adult; adult community group; and children's community groups.

The entries of decorated structures of all sizes and shapes are on display during the "Merry Old Town" celebration in Old Town Manassas for the public to place its votes on their favorites.

The houses will be on display through Dec. 11 and the public can vote where the houses are on display on line at http://www.visitmanassas.org where pictures of the houses come up.

The first place winners in each of the four categories will be announced on Dec. 13.
