The Manassas Community Chorale will open its 14th season of performing choral music for area residents on Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert of patriotic music, "From Sea to Shinning Sea," will be conducted in the sanctuary of the Manassas Baptist Church at the corner of Sudley and Stonewall roads.
The chorale is an auditioned group of 80 singers and is under the artistic direction of Rebecca Verner. Next June, it will perform as part of a 200-voice choir on the stage at New York's Carnegie Hall.
The season's first concert will help support Joe Gibbs' "Youth for Tomorrow" residential center. Those attending the concert are requested to bring a toiletry item which will be donated to the school.
Adult tickets are $15 with season tickets on sale for $50. Tickets can be purchased from music and arts stores, cho-rale members and at the door. Checks are required when purchasing tickets at the stores.
