Eleven Moe's Southwest Grill locations in the Washington, D.C., area are banding together this holiday season with Operation Pinecone to send holiday care packages to troops serving overseas.

Locations in Manassas and Stafford, among others, will collect care package items such as CDs, magazines, toilet-ries and individually wrapped snacks, along with cash donations to support U.S. troops this holiday season.

In addition to collecting care package items from Monday to Dec. 13, these locations will make a donation to Opera-tion Pinecone to help cover the cost of the care packages being mailed all over the world.

Operation Pinecone is a nonprofit organization based in Loudoun County that assembles gift and care packages for service members primarily stationed in Iraq and Afghanista

"It is great to see the community come together to support our troops, many of which have been away from home for quite some time," said Frank Maresca, owner of the Chantilly and South Riding Moe's locations.
