Man pleads guilty to rape of girl, 10

A 32-year-old man pleaded guilty in Prince William Circuit Court on Monday to raping a 10-year-old girl.
Jose Abel Zelaya-Ascencio, of no fixed address, was charged with raping the girl at her family’s home in the 7500 block of Alleghany Court on Oct. 22, 2007.
According to court testimony Monday, the girl was awakened at 5:35 a.m. that morning when Zelaya-Ascencio broke into the house and went into her bedroom.
The girl, who was home alone with her 7-year-old brother, said she tried to get away, but Zelaya-Ascencio overpowered her and raped her, police said.
The girl told police that her attacker wore a bandanna over his face, but she suspected it was Zelaya-Ascencio, who had rented a room at her house prior to the incident.
Zelaya-Ascencio denied being at the house that morning and being involved in the rape, but DNA evidence linked him to the crime scene, police said at the time.
Prosecutors are recommending that Zelaya-Ascencio be sentenced to 20 years in prison, with 10 years suspended, and 10 years of probation.
His sentencing hearing is set for March 6.
Zelaya-Ascencio is an illegal immigrant from El Salvador and could face deportation, officials said.

Chris, push your lies about the numbers of illegal immigrants elsewhere. Your “statistics” could only come near being correct if they included legal aliens.
Of course, you are not admitting the numbers of aliens that crowded the U.S. at the turn of the century, among which 2/3rds of the population has ancestors. The real problem, for you, is what we have now are not Scots-Irish and are brown rather than pigmentally challenged.

CC, I didn’t realize I supported antibvbl. I read that blog, raising kaine and bvbl. Is that support? How does that make me a guilty of aiding and abetting? I also read this newspaper and the WAPO. Guilty.

John lets declare your point about less than 1% of 12 million <absurdly low by most numbers people> most people are saying that there are 20-30 million illegals in the country. In addition Hispanic crime statistics are underreported and or lumped in with white or black crime statistics thus skewing the number greatly. Based on actual crime assailant statistics its more like 7-10% far greater than the General Population unless of course you believe everything in Newspapers and on TV all with their peculiar biases and slants. Check GAO, FBI and assorted department statistics for your relevant information. Blue doggette your support of Anti-BVBL is enough proof for me. In addition why do they pick on handicapped people on that site? Of course since the comments were deleted i would assume free speech is against the rules there. Thusly you would have to think that many Hispanic sex crimes are underreported as well. LOL Chris Cummings
