Manassas police are investigating a street robbery that occurred in the 8900 block of Ashton Avenue on Monday night.
Around 8 p.m., a 26-year-old man was walking home from a nearby convenience store when two men attacked him from behind, said Sgt. Tim Neumann, police spokesman.
Police said the victim was knocked to the ground and punched several times before the assailants fled with his cell phone.
The assailants, described only as black men, who were each approximately 6 feet tall and between 18 and 25 years old, were last seen running toward Miles Place, Neumann said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Manassas City Crime Solvers at 703-330-0330. Callers don’t have to give their name, just the information, and could earn up to a $1,000 cash reward.
