Media General’s Northern Virginia Media Group, which publishes the News & Messenger, has filled two key leadership positions with the appointments of Gary Graff as Regional Advertising Director and Josh Rinehults as Regional Controller.

Graff brings more than 30 years of advertising sales and leadership experience to the group and most recently was a director of sales for Gannett Inc.’s community publishing division.

His prior experience includes stints as advertising and marketing director for the York (Pa.) Daily Record and the Trentonian (Trenton, N.J.), several ad manager positions at the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News, and sales positions with Gannett newspapers in Michigan. Before joining Gannett’s corporate staff in 2003, Gary spent about four years as a senior group manager for America Online.

Rinehults joined Media General in April 2007 as director of internal controls for the Publishing Division in Richmond and later added the responsibilities of director of newsprint. Before that, he was a senior auditor at Ernst & Young. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.

“Gary and Josh are two seasoned professionals who have strong leadership skills and outstanding experience in their fields,” said Bruce Potter, regional publisher for the group. “We’re delighted to have them on our team in Northern Virginia.”

In addition to the News & Messenger, the Northern Virginia group also publishes the daily Culpeper Star-Exponent; two weekly newspapers, the Stafford County Sun and the Belvoir Eagle; and a variety of other publications, including the PW Pulse, the Culpeper News and Prime magazine.
