Parents charged with child neglect

Two parents were arrested on felony child neglect charges following an investigation that started Tuesday afternoon when police received a vehicle violation complaint, said Prince William police spokeswoman Officer Erika Hernandez.
On Tuesday night, Irma Hernandez Cruz, 23, and Evelio Hernandez Cruz, 29, of 10831 Felicia Court outside Manassas, were each charged with two counts felony child abuse/neglect, Hernandez said.
According to police, their sons, ages 4 and 5, were left at the house unsupervised with all the doors to the outside nailed shut.
The boys, neither of whom was found malnourished or injured, were turned over to Child Protective Services, Hernandez said.
The two parents were each held in lieu of a $5,000 bond and will have a hearing in Juvenile and Domestic Relations court.

What the heck is wrong with people today? To not only leave your 4 and 5 year old home alone, but to nail the doors shut, they should be charged with more than child abuse/neglect. But in the end with our judicial system these children will find their way back to these parents…it is sad.

I can’t believe that any human being would consciously do something like that. Nailing the doors shut takes effort let alone leaving them home by themselves! It’s disgusting and those children are better off.

I am waiting for the ANTIBVBL crowd along with PHDEE to make excuses for this couples atrocious behavior.
I am expecting the following excuse, “Its ashame they were only pursuing their American Dream”.

I hope that they are put in jail, and never get to see their children again. I cannot believe that parents would leave their children unsupervised. I have small children and would never never leave without someone being at my home to care for them. I am appalled at what these to parents did.

PHEDEE will find an excuse for the parents behavior. Isn’t that what liberals do?
