Dear Susan, [And others who hold similar positive views]
I would like to thank you and to add my voice to yours to reinforce the important statement you have made. I am also an American citizen who is appalled by the statements of some hate mongers. It so obvious that criminals come in different colors, size, and weight. And yet, because some close minded people do not see beyond their nose, it is so important to dismiss the views of those who try to attribute malfeasance to a specific ethnic group as this will not add an iota of common sense to solving the immigration issue. There are people who find relief playing the blame game to hide their bigoted views and their prejudice. They may fool themselves but not informed citizens of this beautiful county. They can go on and on with this strategy, they have only themselves to entertain! The dramatic thing is that many of our elected officials are catering to these extremist ideas to secure acceptance and reelection. The community involvement to further harmony is more important today than anytime before, simply because it is not American-like to indulge in persecution practices. New independent views have to reemerge to counter this evolving anti-ethnic agenda within and without some of the parties’ representation as well. A community call for action is imperative to create a sense of fairness and respect for diversity to enrich America. We do not like to see our future through the lenses of extremist vigilantes. I also want to add that many immigrants came to America as students and are holding very high positions in the government. What about all these MA and Ph.D holders in all fields who are contributing so much without having obtained a penny for their adopted country? Are they also criminals? so give me a break and discard your reductionist approach in favor of an inclusive and honest assessment of the problem in its entirety. Luckily, we have some educated people who can fight the baseless accusations leveled against immigrants by marginalizing the obscurantism of the few!

Reply to Kegan 32: If you think that the resolution has done anything, than you better check again! Less than 100 people have been arrested, but Millions of Dollars are being spent! Criminals are criminals regardless of race, creed, gender, and expecialy with or without a greencard!! If your not an immigrant than you don’t know the struggles they go through to do the right thing here, but you better believe that many that are here have papers, have had papers or were in the process of getting there papers to be legal here! Don’t you think that it would of made better sence to allow them to get there drivers liscense, or a state ID, so that they can be tracked, instead of hunting them down lick animals!!! But, hey who lives in the land of the free anymore???

Crime has been rampid in this country LONG before there were illegals.  You need to STOP IT.  Everyone wants to put the blame on the illegals because they know they are too freighten to speak up on their own behalf.  I thank the lord everyday that I have a voice since I am a US citizen and I can protect the individuals that are being persecuted.  If you are illegal and reading this please know that not all WHITE AMERICANS have this biggot views.

A further comment to cobra is that the do-gooders who cry out that we who are in favor of the resolution of PWC on illegals are racists, etc and picking on the poor people trying to earn a living is a crock.  Every day we are seeing crimes committed by illegals who have no regard for our laws.  If they did, they would have tried to come here legally, pay their dues to our taxes and assimulate into our society.  But all they want is a free ride and expect everyone else to pay for their hospital bills, schooling, and whatever else they can get.  No sympathy from me.  Go back home and see if your government would let you get away with what you try to get away with here.  With the resolution in place, I’ve already seen big changes for the good in our communities thanks to our Board of Supervisors who had the “GUTS” to do something about it.
