Tickets have gone on sale this week for the fifth annual Prince William Area Free Clinic's "Crystal Gala," to be held Jan. 30 from 7 p.m. to midnight at The Waterford at Fair Oaks.
The evening activities include dinner, dancing and live and silent actions.
Tickets are $100 per person and table sponsorships (10 tickets) are $1,500.
The live auction will feature a Holland America cruise, an exquisite homemade quilt and a week at the Outer Banks.
Other items for bid include autographed Washington Redskins memorabilia, a signed Wizards basketball, a Harley-Davidson basket, overnight getaway packages, and a framed print by Manassas artist Mary Reilly.
The clinic is the only local organization that offers free medical care for indigent and uninsured residents of Manassas, Manassas Park and Prince William County. It also provides some acute dental care for adults.
The clinic is open in Woodbridge on Tuesday evenings and in Manassas on Thursday evenings. About 50 patients are seen in each clinic per week.
The gala is the clinic's one major fundraiser, raising much-needed money for prescription medications and supplies. The clinic operates primarily through volunteer physicians, dentists and other healthcare, pharmacy, social work, and patient education professionals as well as countless "friends of the clinic" who screen, translate, maintain databases and the like.
Prince William and Potomac hospitals were founding members of the clinic and continue to provide significant support-financially as well as free lab and x-ray services.
