Multiple roads remain closed in Prince William County as crews continue clearing downed trees and wait for flooding waters to work their course, authorities said.

Suffering the most severe damage in the county was the stretch of Dale Boulevard between Mapledale Avenue and Nassau Drive.

A Virginia Department of Transportation said repairing the 20-foot long by 25-foot wide washout that stretches across three of the four lanes is expected to take about a week.

Until then, motorists traveling west on Dale Boulevard will use Ridgefield Road, to Prince William Parkway to Hoadly Road to Dale Boulevard.

Motorists heading east on Dale Boulevard will use Hoadly Road to Prince William Parkway to Ridgefield Road to Dale Boulevard. Local traffic will be able to access their neighborhoods.

While Prince William County and Manassas remained under a flood warning until 5:30 p.m., most of the storm system that whipped through the region Sunday night and Monday morning had made its way out to sea, according to the National Weather Service’s Sterling office.

The number of those without power in the area dropped significantly, with Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative reporting all but 36 outages in Prince William resolved.

Additionally, outages for Dominion Virginia Power customers in Northern Virginia had gone down from a little more than 10,000 to just under 5,600 by 3:30 p.m.

As of 2:00 p.m., the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reports the following road closures. Road crews are clearing storm drains and downed trees from roadways.
