Two more arrested in bank robbery

Prince William police arrested two more people in connection with the armed robbery Monday at a United Bank branch at 18116 Triangle Shopping Plaza in Dumfries.

Deangelo Jerome Williams, 18, of 4504 Blue Jay Court in Woodbridge, and a 17-year-old Dale City boy were charged with robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.

Williams, the 17-year-old and two 16-year-old boys planned the robbery, but they only had a motor scooter as transportation in carrying out the robbery, police said.

The two 16-year-olds from Dale City entered the bank with a handgun and demanded money, then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, Hernandez said.

Police who responded to the call noticed two suspicious people on a black motor scooter traveling north on Jefferson Davis Highway, Hernandez said.

One of the officers tried to get the scooter to stop, but the driver turned onto Panther Pride Drive and into the parking lot of Mary Williams Elementary School where he collided with one of the police vehicles, Hernandez said.

The officers caught the two after a short foot chase, Hernandez said.

Police also believe that the three juveniles were involved in the armed robbery of a convenience store in the 1500 block of Cardinal Drive in Dale City at about 11:40 p.m. Sunday. Two of the boys are suspected of going inside to rob the store while the third stood guard outside, Hernandez said.

All three juveniles received additional charges of robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony and are being held without bond, Hernandez said.
