President Barack Obama’s first 100 days

It is now abundantly clear that Sen. Barack Obama will become this nation’s 44th president when he takes the oath of office on Jan. 20. The only matter we should now become concerned with is what
policies he will advocate during his first 100 days in office. I am willing to bet that the following will be high on his list:
• Begin pulling soldiers and Marines out of Iraq. Some will be relocated to Afghanistan, but the bulk of them will be brought back to the United States over a 16-month period. Our only responsibility to
Iraq will then be to pay billions of dollars in reparations for the devastation we have caused in that country since 2003.
• Close Guantanamo Bay base and its detention facility. This base is part of Cuba, much the same as the Panama Canal is part of Panama. The American presence at Guantanamo Bay was established
in an open-ended treaty in 1903 which stated it could be used for refueling navy ships, but not for any other purpose. Further, the base has no practical military value, since the quarters are inadequate
and there are no worthwhile training areas for the small contingent of Marines located there.
• Re-visit foreign aid for Israel. Since 1949, the United States has provided $84.8 billion in aid to Israel. When interest charges are factored in, this total surges to $134.7 billion. President Obama will not
cut this largesse, but he will cap it. He will then advocate modest funding for humanitarian aid for the Palestinians.
• Submit legislation to the Congress to cancel tax preferences for families earning more than $250,000 annually and to raise the capital-gains tax from 15 percent to 25 percent.
• Disestablish the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. Under pressure from religious fundamentalists, Mr. Bush established this office through executive order on Jan. 29, 2001. Its sole
purpose has been to aid religious groups in obtaining government contracts to provide a wide range of social services. Many have criticized the OFBCI as an unconstitutional government support of
religious activities. President Obama will cancel it with a mere stroke of a pen.
• Amend foreign-aid grants. Presently, foreign aid that is provided to needy countries contains a Republican-sponsored provision that the funds cannot be used to promote family planning. President
Obama will remove that restriction.
• Review the policies of the office of U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services with a view to decreasing the number of incarcerations while speeding up evaluation of applications for temporary work
permits and citizenship. The number of persons that may be admitted to the United States from other countries varies according to political whims, and President Obama will put an end to that practice.
Persons from other countries who have clean records and who are willing to work hard to benefit both themselves and our society will get favorable consideration from the Obama Administration.
• Cancel all pending judicial nominations and prepare a new slate of appointees. The Bush Administration will push hard during the final months of 2008 to pack the federal courts with as many
conservative judges as possible. But with the help of a Democratic-controlled U. S. Senate, President Obama can block all the pending appointments and nominate judges who are closer to the American
mainstream in philosophy and temperament.
• Finally, I expect that President Obama will clearly delineate the role and limited authority of his vice president.
He will not allow the vice president to inject himself into the chain of command, to order intelligence agencies to carry out missions or to screen staff reports that are being made to the president. The vice
president will serve as the President of the Senate and as an advisor to the President of the United States. That’s it.

Gary is famous in counting his chickens before they are hatched.
He also is famous for his far left ideas. You can be sure if Gary is for Obama, then you need to be for the other person,as Gary is always wrong.
Go McCain and Palin

Gee Gary why the cheap shot at Israel? Why no mention of Egypt,Pakistan,Jordan, exactly what does our aid money buy us in those Islamic states, Egypt is #2 in US aid by the way. As for the Palestinians Gary I wouldn’t be so quick to feel sorry for them, they portray themselves as victims however it ain’t about the land, they as well as the rest of the Arab states still wish for the day that Israel is no more,if they create a state for them it’s game over, the Arabs keep the war and hate alive using the Palastinians to do their bidding, btw where does all the US and world aid money go that we give to the Palastinian Authority? If you want to play blind man Gary you go walk with the shepherd, me my eyes are wide open!

What an appalingly presumptive statement to make. After recovering from such a declaration, however, a few questions come to mind:
What exactly do you know that we don’t?
What information do you have that essentially negates the upcoming election?
What bona fides do you possess to prove the authenticity of this information?
What kind of fraud do you forsee being perpetrated upon the voting public that would produce such a conclusion?
What type of predictive apparatus (be it domestic, alien, injection molded, or vaguely 8 ball-ish in appearance) do you use to collect such information?
Why do you think that your suppositions are plausible?
Why on earth do I waste my time perusing such ravings?
If you don’t mind, I’d prefer to wait until a winner is declared and certified by an election board rather than postulate as recklessly as you have. Of course, the election could go in quite the other direction, which would make your prediction look positively silly.
More so than it does already, that is.

Abundantly clear?? Just say no to weed Gary.
I hope Obama is elected just to watch all these Obamaniacs realize they’ve been taken for a ride once the honeymoon is over and the Obama high wears off.

First things first…what makes it so abundantly clear that BHO will become the next President? I shutter to think that that may be the case, mostly because he’s a laughable candidate.
Secondly…if he followed all of Mr. Jacobsen’s suggestions, he would be the most liberal (and therefore disastrous) President this nation has ever seen.
Why would we give a clean slate to all those who enter this country? Why wouldn’t we have as stringent a screening process as possible? Why not just invite Al Qaeda to gain citizenship so they can set up shop a bit more easily?
Reduce our support for Israel? The only ally we have in the part of the world? The only other truly democratic nation in that part of the world? Please. Instead we should augment the “humanitarian” aid to the Palestinians, a people who danced in the streets in celebration of what happened to us on September 11th? Great idea Gary.
And during these 100 days, is he going to begin to socialize health care? If so, I hope he begins to discuss the middle class tax increase that would be absolutely necessary in order to accomplish that.
And kudos to Gary for advocating more class warfare and punishment of those who’ve worked hard to earn money. The wealthiest Americans already pay well over 40% income tax…and this isn’t enough? While we’re at it, why not just have every job worth exactly the same income, so we don’t have to have government redistribution of wealth. Sounds dangerously like…well…communism, Gary.
The last thing we need is a President who will stand idly by while Al Qaeda comes out of their holes and sets up shop wherever they please…or a President who wastes time “negotiating” while Iran continues nuclear advancement…or stays on the sidelines while Iran, et. al wipe Israel off the map like they say they want to all the time.
In short, the last thing we need is a coward. The last thing we need is Barack Obama.

Gary, I believe there’s an expression that goes with this article perfectly that involves chickens and counting.
