Sen. Barack Obama gave a speech in which he said “...instead of worrying about whether immigrants can learn English — they’ll learn English — you need to make sure your child can speak Spanish.” Is this a vision of the future?

A recent statement by Del. Jeff Frederick, who is also Chair of the Republican Party of Virginia, comparing Barack Obama to Osama Bin Laden, is not only a scurrilous slander, but also an obvious attempt to distract the voters of Virginia from the real issues in this campaign.

Third graders in Virginia are taught that a human life begins with the union of sperm and egg, yet Sen. Barack Obama stated at Saddleback Church in California this past August that the question of when
life begins was “above his pay grade.”

Sarah Palin is taking off the gloves and punching Sen. Obama for associating with a radical from the 1960s who did his deeds when Obama was eight years old!

Joe Biden is right, “it is our patriotic duty to pay taxes!” After all, our government is “by the people, for the people” and so, it should be financed by all the people.

I would like to expand on the letter from the Chura family that appeared in these pages on Oct. 12. In their letter, they cite how a Republican “volunteer’s car was…badly damaged by ‘keying’” at Republican headquarters on Prince William Parkway. 

The newspaper’s recent editorial criticizing the Dumfries Town Council for allowing another town manager to leave has no merit.

It was with a mixture of disgust and embarrassment that I read Del. Jeff Frederick’s recent statement comparing Barack Obama to Osama Bin Laden in Time magazine.

It’s a clear equation: Bad times = high crime. Mr. Singstock is on target with his letter taking the County Board of Supervisors to task for cutting the public security budget on par with social entitlements.

I take great exception to Mr. Neal‘s letter in which he states “If you are a true Christian and believe that abortion and same-sex marriage is a sin, you will be held accountable before God himself on how you vote in November.”

Barack Obama to Osama bin Laden when he stated that, “Both have friends who bombed the Pentagon. That is scary.” As we know, this remark is a VERY distorted and oft refuted association between Obama and the 1960s radical, William Ayers.

Many people have a political bias, and that is to be expected. However, I was under the impression that the newspaper’s purpose was not to promote their own bias, but to report the news. 

Judy Feder is running again. In the 1990s, she supported the national health care program that failed in Congress because of the costs to build government operations to replace private sector operations.

Election 2008 approaches. Prince William is a battlefield county in a battlefield state. It spans much of Virginia’s districts.

What this paper failed to do today in its article regarding Delegate Frederick, is to give the complete story to our residents on what the Republican Party under Frederick’s leadership has done in the past week to raise tensions in Virginia.

John Barnes, I don’t get it. Someone having a different opinion should not warrant a “village idiot” remark.
