Help was there when I needed it
I wish to thank Dr. Bukzin D.D.S. and staff for helping me in a time of need.
Enough lecturing from Mr. Angsten
Joe Angsten should not be lecturing Democrats about “competence” in government and his resistance to Obama’s call for “change.”
Our future in using our fuel effectively
It is fairly clear that in the near future there will not be enough gas and oil to supply the world’s “need.” However, instead of addressing this problem head-on, we are trying to build more roads (to “solve” traffic gridlock) and to search for new fields of gasoline and oil (to “decrease” price of fuel at the pumps).
Great article deserves a front-page spot
Saturday’s article about DeCarol Davis, the first black female valedictorian of the Coast Guard Academy, who by the way, graduated from a local high school, Forest Park, did not make it to the front page of the Potomac News
A sarcastic thanks for clearing our community
I am a 17-year-old caucasian girl who has lived in Manassas my whole life.

George Bush is a sorry president and man
The front page story “Reaction Positive to Webb’s G.I. Bill” in the July 2 Potomac News was a fitting tribute to Sen. Jim Webb, who worked diligently for 18 months to get the bill through Congress.
Outward expressions don’t make a patriot
Over the years I have read with occasional interest the rantings and ravings written by Mr. Vic Poillucci. I had hoped that aging would have produced better results but his recent letter berating the patriotism of Barack Obama is hog-wash and a bird-call — cheep, cheep and cheep.
The inspiration of Old Dominion Speedway
Mr. Brothers III, have you ever heard of “Grandfather Clause?”
County traffic solutions are being shortchanged
Much is being made of the cost of the recent General Assembly special session where transportation solutions would have helped residents of Prince William County, and I agree that it is absolutely unconscionable for our representatives to take $120,000 in taxpayer money to accomplish nothing on this all-important issue.

The absurd acts of the PWCSA
How absurd it is for the Prince William County Sewer Authority to even mention cutting the water off or expecting payment for their not-so-bright mistake.
Higher education, loans, student rights
While the media has been covering the student loan “crisis,” advertising the fears of the banking industry that they will be put out of business by the newest market and government trends, few people are continuing to discuss issues from the student borrower side.
A commendation and a criticism
DeCarol Davis deserved to be on the front page of the newspaper
A few last words from Mrs. Teets
Sandi Teets sets the record straight on her name and location.

Letter publication helped spread smear
Newspaper tries to be fair, but it messed up big time with letter on Obama according to this letter writer.
Relief at mental help for brother
After years of trying to seek help for my mentally ill brother, I was so relieved when I heard the news that effective July 1, the mental health system was changing to make it easier to get help for the mentally ill.

PWC scores not lowest in Virginia
It is hard to understand the motivation for the “Only in P.W. County” editorial cartoon of July 11.
A lie repeated often enough is believed
There is a saying political mudslingers believe in completely. It goes like this: “Repeat a lie often enough and it will be believed.” On July 11, the Potomac News printed a letter from A. Vic Poillucci, (On Barack Obama and patriotism) that repeats a LIE which has been floating around the Internet for months.
Obama lie travels across the world
A. Vic Poillucci’s letter to the editor (published on July 11) questioned Senator Obama’s patriotism and quoted as proof a statement by him that, among other things, suggested he would be willing to accept “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing” as a substitute for our National Anthem.
If you don’t like the racetrack, then leave
This letter is in response to the letter written by C.P. Brothers III in the July 10 issue of this paper.

Standing up for our aging population
There is $800,000 in a contingency fund that could be used to fund the $233,000 Manassas Senior Day Program today if the top officials in our Prince William County government desired to do so.
All people should be cared for in America
Recent events have caused many to start asking — Who are these “Brown” people and why are they here?
Writer corrects record on sense of humor
Sandi Teets, not satisfied with her attempt to besmirch the good name of Senator Barack Obama, has now decided that I do not have a sense of humor because I did not think her “sarcastic” opinion letter was funny, “Ha, Ha.”

Chuck Colgan breaks his promise
In last fall’s election, “I DO NOT SUPPORT any increase in the gas tax” was how Chuck Colgan “set the record straight” during his re-election campaign for the Virginia Senate seat that represents most of Prince William County.
Supervisors should respect their elders
Why do the Supervisors feel the eastern end of the county is more worthy than those of the Western end? We are the western end, not the WEALTHY end.
Paper perpetuates a false smear
I have read some ridiculous letters in your newspaper lately regarding Barrack Obama. But a recent letter from A. Vic Poillucci just might take the cake.

See ya in the pits at the Old Dominion Speedway
Mr. Brothers III, as a local, an employee of Old Dominion Speedway. I only wish when shown your future home that you had taken the time to drive around the community, or perhaps the sellers had the foresight to mention the track.
Fair and equitable distribution of money?
Why should Northern Virginia counties get $150 million transportation dollars to Hampton Roads $300 million dollars? How does our state determine what the fair and equitable distribution of transportation dollars is?

Unfair taxation in Prince William County
Why is it that I’m paying more than one third in real estate tax on a home that my dad built and paid for debt free (including the land) at about $9,800 back in 1957? Keep in mind there has been no added structure to the home.
Salmonella doesn’t come from tomatoes!
I can save health officials — who are still trying to pinpoint the exact cause of the recent salmonella outbreak that has sickened more than 800 people in 36 states — both time and money. It’s the meat, stupid!

Where are all the numbers now?
Remember all the media hype about record numbers of democratic voter turnout for the primaries?
