In that article, “Are we able to stop campus killers?” (April 13), Lt. Gen. Bruce M. Lawlor said “two things have to be focused on:  One is communication and the second is behavior.” 

Changing the immigration resolution (or “strengthening” it as Mr. Stewart calls it) contradicts the very decision the Board of County Supervisors made when it chose to alter the terms of checking immigration status. 

As a college student home from the University of Connecticut, I was quite pleased to learn that ridership on VRE and Metro was up 12 percent and 8.5 percent over April last year.

What in the world has gotten into the people who, on a daily basis, speed up and down residential streets? Not a day goes by that we don’t have cars, SUVs, school buses, garbage trucks, delivery trucks and service trucks speeding on Nassau Drive.

You missed the point entirely in your opinion article on May 19.

I had no idea that Prince William Hospital was up for sale again until last year. On October 10, 2007, Mr. Sam Bajaj from the Federal Trade Commission called me about Inova making a bid to buy out Prince William Hospital because of an op-ed I wrote opposing the last attempted sale.

John McCain’s favorite pastor, John Hagee, apologizing for having referred to the Catholic church as “the great whore.” Hagee expressed “deep regret”  that Catholics might have found his comments “hurtful.”

It is appreciated the article that Mr. Scarton wrote regarding the George Mason University Performing Arts Center. However, how, in good faith, can Prince William County “cough up” $26,400,000 in these acknowledged hard times for citizens?

Recently, editions of the Manassas Journal Messenger and the Washington Post carried a one page ad paid for by the Prince William Hospital and Inova, again promoting the merger of the two institutions.

Mr. Pineda continues to rant about a lot of issues and topics most of which are not related to today’s illegal alien situation. 

After reading today’s opinion piece from The (Waynesboro) News Virginian, (Borrowers beware of government’s hand), I just had to chime in.

It was of great disappointment and deep hurt that the Prince William Board of County Supervisors (7-1) decided to rezone 152 acres of A1, agricultural land to Planned Business District in the Bristow and Brentsville community of agricultural, historical and residential living — especially as their appointed planning commissioners were completely in denial of this rezoning.

May 18 to 24 is Dog Bite Prevention Week. One way to create a dangerous dog is to chain it to a tree or doghouse and leave it to pace the same patch of dirt for years on end.

I am writing to express my disfavor with the vote cast by the Board of County Supervisors, in favor of closing down the Manassas Senior Day Program.
