During the evening of March 13, as the Woodbridge Kiwanis Club was celebrating 61 years of service to the eastern Prince William County community at the Montclair Country Club, they were awarded an official Kiwanis certificate, stating that the club has been designated a Distinguished Kiwanis Club for 2006-2007. The certificate was signed by Nelson Tucker, president of Kiwanis International. This is an especially noteworthy achievement, as it puts the Woodbridge Club in the top tier of nearly 16,000 Kiwanis clubs located in more than 70 countries and geographical areas around the world.
The special recognition associated with this outstanding award, was achieved by the dedication and hard work of the members of Woodbridge Club and their Sponsored Youth Clubs (Key Clubs at Forest
Park, Gar-Field, Hylton and Woodbridge High Schools; and a Builders Club at Woodbridge Middle School); and, beginning next school year, a new Key Club at the Potomac High School.
All members are to be congratulated for their outstanding accomplishments.
With their continuing effort in helping make our community a better place to live and work; hopefully, another award will be forthcoming next year.
With more members, the Woodbridge Club can even do more for the community. If you wish to become a member, contact Brian Bell, at 703-670-7696 or e-mail: . The club meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month, at the Montclair Country Club, beginning at 6:45 p.m.
