Thank you for starting my Wednesday with a hearty belly laugh when I read Tom Kopko, the “not soon enough to be former” chairman of the PWC Republican Committee say “Republicans in PWC have become stronger in PWC because we are on the right side of issues…” Stronger?

I am a Republican and a member (I think) of that committee, but I have to ask: What acid trip is he on? Under his leadership the committee has imploded — exponentially!  He has successfully reduced active participation to the point that meeting quorums can’t be met! Two nominating conventions were so replete with overvotes, also known as stuffing the ballot box, that local Republicans no longer trust him to hold an honest one!

Under his “leadership,” PWC Republicans became so strong we lost one “safe” state delegate seat and one state senate seat, which means our strength is directly responsible for turning the state
Senate over to a Democratic majority! I am sure he took his “strong Republican leadership” cues from another “strong” Republican who promised to “take this county in another direction.” And what a direction that is! I wish I could say “I told you so,” but I won’t.

Excellent remarks John but don’t forget to give Cory Stewart, John Stirrup and Greg Letiecq their fair share of the credit also.

Tom can’t do these things on his own.
