There are not enough words to rebuke John Merli’s column on July 24. John did hit all the liberal talking points so he does keep the far left happy. He does the typical comparison of evil doings to
President Bush.

Well, Mr. Merli, George Bush has made this country a safer place with no thanks from the liberal media and a Democratic controlled Congress.

He mentions Chairman Corey Stewart and the Board of Supervisor’s effort to address the serious illegal alien problem this country, not county, faces.

John hides behind the hate banner instead of the real reasons this resolution had such support.

And yes, by the way, it is working and has made a positive impact here locally. So, God help us, if Barack Obama gets elected at least this area will be a better place thanks to reasonable leaders and
not the far left’s ideologue.

Oh by the way, did anyone notice that Obama was overseas?

No question the immigrants will return when the jobs return. If the PWC Resolution is working in any way, shape or form, it is because the collapse of the construction market and that reason only.  As I’ve said, an illegal has a better change of hitting the lottery than of being deported.

“And yes,by the way,is working and has made a positive impact here locally”
it’s working? you should make a trip to downtown Woodbridge just to see with your own eyes that illegals have not gone anywhere, I think more of them are moving to PWC just to make people like you cry-out-loud against them. I wonder what would hurt your feelings the most, having more illegals living in PWC or having Barack Obama as president, it’s a choice that soon you will have to make. like Mr. Ray Williams once said: “comprehensive immigration reform is what we need”,now that we know the serious problem do we have serious solution? I don’t think so. once Obama becomes president a healthy economy will be running in full speed and the so much hated illegals will be mowing your grass again! like it or not that is the reality.

You are right ronni , the problem with many Republicans is that they are acting like Democrats.

“a Democratic controlled Congress” ?

Once again, we have a conservative rewriting history to suit their personal fantasies.

The Republicans controlled the House of Representatives from 1994 until 2006.  They controlled the Senate for much of President Clinton’s administration as well.  In the Senate, after 2000 there was a tie until one Republican defected, giving the Democrats a one vote majority.  The Republicans did take the Senate again in 2002, and hold it until 2006.

In the Senate, there is once again a one vote Democratic majority, and Republicans filibuster literally every bill proposed by any Democrat. If, by some chance the bill can break through the Republican’s filibuster, President Bush is likely to veto it.

The current issues in our country that are all coming to a boil, are the fault of Republican mis-management.
