Candidate’s histories, seen side by side

I read an article today announcing that John McCain plans to go negative against Barack Obama in the last month before the election. So why don’t we just get the mud slinging over with now?
Obama associated with a radical pastor who said unkind things about the USA; sort of like that right-wing pastor, Jerry Falwell, who claimed that the attack of 9/11 was God’s wrath brought down on us
for being tolerant of homosexuals. Once calling Falwell an “agent of intolerance” McCain later changed his stance while seeking votes from the religious right.
Obama is accused of having associated with men with shady histories, one of whose actions took place when Obama was eight years old. Is that like the co-conspirators John McCain associated with
over 20 years ago as a member of the “Keating Five?” This group ran interference against government scrutiny of Charles H. Keating, Jr, owner of the Lincoln Savings & Loan, and a very generous McCain
campaign donor. The S&L ultimately failed, costing taxpayers $3.4 billion, and more than 20,000 Americans lost their savings. McCain was formally reprimanded by the Senate Ethics Committee for his
involvement.
In the family-values department, a topic near and dear to many voters, a comparison of the candidates’ marriages shows that the Obama’s just celebrated their 16th anniversary and seem secure in their
love for each other and their daughters. By contrast, Mr. McCain saw fit to pursue and get engaged to a younger, prettier, and healthier new woman while still married to his first wife, who was disfigured in
a car crash while awaiting his return from Vietnam.
We can see that there is room to go negative on both sides. Now perhaps we can look at the real reason for selecting a president — where he stands on the critical problems facing our nation and how he
would try to solve them. I urge fellow voters to look at the issues and vote for the candidate who is serious about this election — Obama is the decisive winner in this regard.

Ah yes…that famous line of BS that the Democrats are above the “politics of hate” and only care about the issues. Please.
We have a candidate who has served his country. We have a candidate who has demonstrated his character and fortitude over a lifetime. We have a candidate who isn’t afraid to step out against his own party, when need be.
You have a candidate who has served himself. You have a candidate who has never served his country, nor demonstrated any evidence of character…actually he’s demonstrated a lack of it…and often. And you have a candidate who has never stepped away from his own party, no matter how many times they’ve been wrong.
Democrats practice the politics of ignorance…they ignore all these ugly facts and truths about exactly who their candidate (and his hollow-headed sidekick) is, and instead focus on childish nicknames like “McSame.“
They can’t justify any of the criticisms against him, no matter how plain and factual they are…so they just skip away from them and pretend they don’t exist. Of course…they can’t be blamed…it’s what Democrats to best. Avoid taking action at all costs…unless it’s Affirmative Action, of course.

“overwhelming evidence that there’s never been a less qualified man to be President than BHO”
Present President Bush excepted I would imagine you meant to add. Along with his sidekick John McCain, who voted with the present President Bush 95% of the time. Or perhaps, McSame’s running mate, Miss America - whose only role in this campaign appears to be to provide fodder for SNL skits.
Please read the letter again pwanon. The writer cleared the bases of your “issues” and wants us to focus on what is best for America.
Your rant only proves McCain is running on fear and fear alone, with nothing to offer but his Bailout to Nowhere Plan - an off-the-cuff plan not supported with indepth research on the costs or degree of success to be expected.
McCain’s theme song is Jackson Browne’s “Running on Empty”.

The question does remain the same: Is this a football game, where the worst that can happen is a loss…or is this an election, where the worst that can happen is that we elect a man who would surrender if Ahmadinejad, Putin, or Chavez sneezed in his general direction?
We can’t afford any more Democrats that are bribed by Fannie and Freddie. We can’t afford any more Democrats who clamor for the opportunity to abandon all that our troops have accomplished in Iraq. We can’t tolerate any Democrats who think its morally acceptable to murder babies who are partially born. And we certainly can’t afford a Democrat who sees fit to funnel taxpayer money to domestic terrorists and organizations that are indicted for voter fraud.
We can’t afford those…and we shouldn’t tolerate a man so cowardly that he would sit idly by, FOR 20 YEARS, while his “spiritual mentor”, baptist of his children, and officiant of his wedding cursed the United States, cursed all white people, and justified the murder of so many innocent Americans that died on 9/11. Not once was a single question about this raised by BHO until it became a political liability.
We can’t afford to turn a blind eye to all of this overwhelming evidence that there’s never been a less qualified man to be President than BHO.

The question to ask continues to be simple: “Are we better off today under the Republican leadership of President Bush and John McCain, who supported the Bush Administration 95% of the time, or is it time for a change?“
The Washington Redskins spent the last few seasons under the tried and true leadership of our beloved Joe Gibbs. While we continue to admire Coach Gibbs for all he’s done for Washington football, his policies were no longer getting the job done. We could not afford more of the same for another season.
When it became time for a change, Dan Snyder took a chance on an unproven talent, Jim Zorn. Coach Zorn’s love and understanding of the game has taken Washington to a 4 and 1 record to start the season. This youthful leadership style is what we need in the White House.
This country cannot afford four more years of the Bush-McCain policies that have led America to economic, energy, and international standing failure.
We cannot afford four more years of declining job creation, record unemployment, jobs sent overseas, and a blind eye towards illegal immigration.
If you are one of the millions of Americans watching gas prices increase, home values decrease, retirement funds wiped out or perhaps one of the 150,000 losing a job each month you know we are not better off than we were eight years ago.
It is time for a change and that change is Democratic leadership under the Barack Obama - Joe Biden ticket.
