I’d like to respond to Mr. Denton’s letter printed on March 7. He claims that Hillary Clinton is the only logical choice for president.
I agree with his opinion of Obama. I feel he is far too risky and inexperienced to elect.
Mr. D chides McCain for being a war supporter. I see him as a veteran who proudly serves his country. He also does not waver from his position on the war.
Which leaves us with Mrs. Clinton. Her position on issues changes with public opinion. Mr. Denton lists her credentials as “eight years of White House experience” — I have to take exception with this claim!!
I have been an Army wife for 17 years, yet I would never claim to have 17 years of Army experience!
Let’s not exaggerate a candidate’s qualifications, please.

It is wise to not play dumb about Mrs. Clinton’s roles of her past. She spent years working on a health care plan that was the biggest disaster in politics. Lets also not forget that she was the focus of the white water scandal. It is also wise to know that many people connected to that scandal mysteriously died in random accidents.

People like to play dumb about Mrs. Clinton’s role in the Clinton White House. She clearly was involved on a different level than Barbara Bush or Nancy Reagan. She spearheaded health care efforts under Bill Clinton for example. Whether you like her or not, its ridiculous to pretend that she was a typical first lady and belittle her contributions to the Clinton White House.
Let’s not exagerate your grasp of history or politics.

The difference between an Army wife and a First lady, Ms Cummins, is that a First Lady actually accomplishes many important things while her husband serve as Commander-in-Chief. The First Lady is a position of power as well as her husband’s position. She traveled around the world to promote human rights, she created and implemented the State Children’s Health Insurance program, and fought many other battles that her husband could not spare time for but cared deeply about. Have you even noticed that Obama and McCain draw from the policies and ideas she had created before the primary campaigns? They are the ones basing their promises upon her ideas and changing how they present it to their supporters based on the demographics where they are! Utterly ridiculous.
